Chizulu Uwolloh is a program assistant at the foundation’s West Africa office, where she supports program officers working in Gender, Racial, and Ethnic Justice, Natural Resources and Climate Change, and intersectional programmatic areas. 

Before joining Ford, ‘Zulu was a programs and communications intern at a nonprofit organization that promotes education and literacy in Nigeria. 

In 2022, ‘Zulu founded Kurerie, a youth-led digital platform and global community centered on inspiring, empowering, and educating young people on social impact issues. With the Kurerie Podcast, ‘Zulu interviews young global leaders with impact projects that are making positive differences in their communities. Kurerie aims to show youth that they can catalyze huge impact in the world by taking seemingly small steps.

Chizulu is a World Literacy Foundation Youth Ambassador and a TheirWorld Global Youth Ambassador, and she was selected as one of 23 youth delegates of Cohort 9 of the UNITE 2030 Youth Delegate Program. She has worked and volunteered with youth-focused organizations including Global Changemakers and the National Model United Nations Conference. She is also an ambassador for The Bloom, a newsletter and community for social-impact professionals. In 2023, ‘Zulu was selected as a “Top Voice” in LinkedIn’s first-ever “African List” to celebrate International Women’s Day. ‘Zulu is also the author of the children’s book A Not So Wishy-Washy Story, which she wrote to spotlight the importance of hygiene during the Ebola virus outbreak.

‘Zulu holds bachelor of law degrees from the University of Lagos and the Nigerian Law School.
